Ranked's live Tokyo job listings for AI assistants: MCP, REST and WebMCP.

Ranked for AI assistants

Ranked lists live job openings in Tokyo, Japan, collected daily from employers' own career sites, for foreign and bilingual professionals. The same listings are available to AI assistants through a public MCP server, so an assistant can search them directly instead of guessing from web pages.

It is free, read-only and needs no account or API key.

Connect

MCP server URL (Streamable HTTP):

  • Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, and paste the URL. No authentication.
  • ChatGPT: Settings → Apps → enable developer mode, then create an app with the URL. No authentication.
  • Any other MCP client: add the URL as a remote (Streamable HTTP) server. It is listed in the official MCP Registry asjp.ranked/jobs.

Hosts that support MCP Apps (ChatGPT, Claude and others) show results as job cards with salary, language and visa signals and Apply links. Other hosts receive the same data as JSON.

Tools

  • search_jobs: search live Tokyo jobs. Filters:query (keywords), company, category,english_workable (English is enough), no_japanese_required,visa_sponsorship, remote, employment_type,salary_min (annual JPY, e.g. 8000000), posted_within_days, and limit / offset for paging (at most 50 per page).
  • get_job: one job's full description, salary, requirements and application link, by the id a search returned.
  • search_companies: employers hiring in Tokyo, by keyword.
  • get_company: one employer's profile and its open jobs.

Example requests an assistant can answer with them:

  • Find backend engineering jobs in Tokyo where English is enough and visa sponsorship is available.
  • Show Tokyo jobs paying more than 10 million yen a year.
  • Which companies in Tokyo are hiring for machine learning roles?

What a job carries

  • Salary as the employer's advertised annual range in yen. Many postings publish none, and then it is empty rather than estimated.
  • Japanese and English requirements, and visa sponsorship, each with a source: posting_reviewed means checked against the employer's own wording; ranked_inference means estimated by Ranked from the posting and company signals. Visa sponsorship is reported as supported, likely, possible,not_supported or not_stated. An assistant relaying an inference should say it is one.
  • Links: ranked_url (the job's page on Ranked) and application.url (the same Ranked page, where users can view the job and continue to apply). Direct employer posting URLs are not included.
  • Freshness: source.last_checked_at is when Ranked's crawler last saw the posting live, so an assistant can say "verified 8 hours ago" instead of trusting an old page.

Coverage is jobs located in Tokyo. Listings are re-checked daily and the service answers from a cache refreshed every ten minutes.

In the browser (WebMCP)

Pages on ranked.jp register the same tools with browsers that support WebMCP, so an AI agent working in a tab can call them instead of reading the page. On a job's page it also gets get_current_job, for the job being viewed.

Use and privacy

The connector returns public job and company information. For each request we log the client's User-Agent, the calling page's origin and the search itself (filters and keywords) for security, debugging and aggregate usage analysis. These logs may contain personal data supplied in search text or request metadata. Logs expire after 90 days and are automatically deleted; physical deletion by our hosting provider normally completes within a further 72 hours, but can occasionally take longer. We do not log IP addresses or cookies. See the privacy policy and terms.
