About this role

Lead and develop a field application engineering team responsible for deploying autonomous-driving and remote-operation systems at customer sites. Manage team assignments, workload, goals, one-on-ones, evaluations, hiring planning, interviews, and onboarding.

Coordinate multiple sites and projects, set priorities, manage escalations, and design and improve deployment KPIs, quality standards, and work procedures. Standardize deployment processes, maintain knowledge-sharing systems, and develop tools and procedures such as equipment-management databases, installation manuals, time-synchronization tools, and network-monitoring tools.

Serve as a key liaison among development, business teams, vendors, and customers. Consolidate defects and improvement requests for development teams, using JIRA and Notion, and contribute directly to difficult deployments, equipment testing, troubleshooting, technical discussions, and support for important customers.

Requires five or more years of experience in sales engineering, field engineering, pre-sales, or similar work; leadership experience managing and developing three or more people, coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders, or designing and standardizing operational processes; technical grounding in networking, embedded systems, or control; field technical-support experience; and business-level Japanese. Experience with autonomous-driving or remote-operation systems, internal tool development using Python or C++, 3D mechanical design, and English at conversational level or above are preferred.

This is a full-time Tokyo-based hybrid role requiring office attendance at least two days per week. A discretionary work system applies, with working hours treated as 10 hours per day. The listed annual salary range is JPY 6,000,000 to JPY 12,000,000.
