Required qualifications include experience implementing machine-learning or mathematical-optimization algorithms in Python, code development using AI agents such as Claude Code or Codex, the ability to read papers and prior research and implement findings independently, and the ability to communicate in Japanese. The technical stack includes Python, pandas or polars, scikit-learn or PyTorch as needed, BigQuery, GCS, and AI-agent tools.
This is a part-time position with a probationary period of up to three months. The role is based in Minato, Tokyo, and remote work is available. Expected work is approximately 10 hours per week on shifts between 9:00 and 18:00, with work times and days subject to discussion. Hourly pay is JPY 1,500 to 2,000, and commuting expenses are provided.
