Architecture Planning

The role leads planning and standardization of system architecture across the Mizuho Group. Responsibilities include developing target-state architectures and roadmaps for individual business domains, reviewing and governing architecture designs at domain and system level through an architecture design governance board, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

The position supports architecture standardization for individual projects by developing related rules and guidelines and assisting with deployment to common platforms. It is responsible for promoting overall optimization of the group’s systems from an architecture perspective, including architecture design, standardization, governance, and planning support.

Required qualifications include experience designing, standardizing, or governing architecture for large-scale IT systems, or multiple experiences as a project leader or above in mission-critical system development for financial institutions or similar organizations. The posting also requires at least three years of experience in IT system design, development, or operations, native-level Japanese communication skills in reading and writing, and project management experience including control of development companies.

Preferred experience includes developing enterprise architecture within a company or group and designing, introducing, and operating standardization policies and guidelines. Broad architecture design and construction experience spanning applications, infrastructure, and data is also preferred. Examples of relevant qualifications include the Information Technology Engineer Examination’s Systems Architect or IT Strategist certifications, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, and TOGAF or other enterprise-architecture certifications.

The role also values experience designing systems with cloud or other common platforms and supporting their deployment, knowledge of modern architecture such as API utilization and microservices, and planning experience creating presentation materials and coordinating multiple stakeholders including the CIO and business divisions. English ability sufficient to directly consult technical materials is listed as a preferred requirement.

This is a permanent employee position in Tokyo. The standard working hours are 8:40 to 17:10, with 7.5 scheduled working hours and a 60-minute break; flextime may apply depending on the department. Overtime and holiday work may be required. The probationary period is six months with the same salary. Holidays include weekends, public holidays, year-end and New Year holidays, annual paid leave of 21 days subject to the hiring month, and other special leave. Salary is determined under company rules and is listed as negotiable.
