Cloud Strategy Planning

This role plans, designs, introduces, and manages group-wide infrastructure and architecture using cloud technologies, primarily AWS and GCP. The position also leads infrastructure governance, including decisions on cloud usage, and the planning, implementation, management, standardization, and optimization of architectures.

The role supports Mizuho’s internal Cloud Center of Excellence and cloud-promotion initiatives. It involves coordinating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, specialists, and experts on common infrastructure, architecture decisions, and cloud governance in the financial sector.

Required experience includes planning, building, or managing infrastructure using cloud services, or multiple experiences at project-leader level or above in IT infrastructure work at a financial institution. Applicants must also have at least three years of experience in the design, development, and operation of IT systems, native-level Japanese communication skills in reading and writing, and project management experience including vendor control.

Preferred qualifications include experience designing, building, and operating common platforms within a company or group; production experience designing, building, and operating infrastructure on AWS or GCP; and AWS Solution Architect Associate or Google Associate Cloud Engineer certification. Professional-level AWS or GCP certification is additionally preferred. Experience with network design, construction, and operation; designing and implementing infrastructure security measures, particularly for projects with internet connectivity; preparing presentation materials; and coordinating multiple stakeholders is also preferred. The posting lists English ability sufficient to directly refer to technical materials, mainly for reading and writing, as a preferred qualification.

This is a permanent full-time position in Tokyo. The standard schedule is 8:40 to 17:10, with 7.5 scheduled working hours and a 60-minute break. Flextime may apply depending on the department. The probationary period is six months with the same salary. Overtime and holiday work may be required. Holidays include Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, year-end and New Year holidays, annual paid leave of 21 days subject to the hiring month in the first year, and other special leave. Salary is determined according to company rules and is not numerically specified.
