Nippon Yusen (NYK Line) is a shipping and logistics group with 39,830 consolidated employees as of March 2026. Its businesses cover container shipping and terminals, a car-carrier fleet of about 120 vessels with inland automotive logistics, dry bulk carriers for iron ore, coal, grain and wood chips, and energy transport.
The energy business carries crude oil, petroleum products, chemicals, LPG, LNG and coal and is involved in offshore oil and gas operations. Yusen Logistics provides air and ocean freight forwarding, warehousing and distribution from about 650 locations in over 45 countries and regions, and NYK Cruises runs the Asuka cruise business.
