Toyobo manufactures films, life-science products, environmental and functional materials, and textiles. Its film business makes packaging and industrial films, including biaxially oriented polyester films and release films. Functional materials include VYLON copolyester resins, engineering plastics, thermoplastic polyester elastomers and polyester spunbond nonwovens.
In life science it supplies bioproducts such as PCR enzymes, diagnostic analyzers, medical products including hollow-fiber membranes for artificial kidneys, and pharmaceutical contracting services. Environmental products include K-FILTER VOC recovery equipment and MBR membranes, while the textile business covers airbag fabrics, functional textiles, apparel fabrics and trading through Toyobo STC.
