Global Manufacturing Manager, AI Server Manufacturing and ODM

This role sits in SoftBank’s Next-Generation Infrastructure Manufacturing Preparation Office, a newly established organization responsible for developing server OEM and ODM operations, including integration sales and maintenance services. The position leads the manufacturing function for the company’s branded AI servers and helps establish the operating model for production and quality support.

The manager builds and manages manufacturing arrangements with overseas ODM vendors, negotiates pricing and service agreements, defines AI server product requirements, directs ODM design work, and conducts design reviews. The role also resolves technical issues during prototyping, evaluation, and mass-production transition, covering performance, thermal characteristics, reliability, initial defects, failure rates, spare parts, returns, exchanges, and on-site support. It coordinates escalation and quarterly reviews with internal and external stakeholders.

Applicants must have hardware design experience involving servers, PCs, network equipment, or similar products. They must be able to give technical specifications to ODM engineers and review their work, and have experience addressing manufacturing quality, maintenance agreements, service-level agreements, returns, exchanges, initial defects, or spare-parts management. Experience resolving technical issues with manufacturing contractors in server, data-center, or electronic-equipment production is also required.
