An in-house infrastructure engineer position on the 36-person team responsible for IT across the whole ID Group. The hire is employed by Information Development and seconded to ID Holdings, with identical HR, evaluation and benefit systems.
The engineer oversees the group's IT infrastructure and works to improve and optimise the internal IT environment. Depending on experience, duties include overall design and operations management of the internal network, servers and cloud; acting as technical leader to drive operational efficiency and stronger security; proposing improvements to asset, licence and account management; leading fast incident response and technical decisions; designing, building and running the internal network; AWS and Azure design, build and operations; and Windows and Linux server design, build and operations. Weekend work for system updates and maintenance comes up on a rotation about once or twice a month.
Required (any one): 3+ years as an infrastructure engineer, 3+ years as an in-house systems engineer, or 2+ years of management experience as a PM or PL.
