Stockmark, a leading Japanese generative-AI startup that builds its own LLMs (100-billion-parameter Japanese LLM Stockmark-2), is hiring a Natural Language Processing Researcher (LLM) to lead NLP and machine-learning research and development in its Research division, working closely with product teams (which also collaborates academically with Tohoku University's Inui lab and has published an NLP book). Work: developing NLP/ML features in products; developing methods to structure news articles via named-entity recognition and text classification; building business-useful knowledge graphs from news; developing news recommendation methods; and researching summarization and text generation from news, papers/patents and business documents. You can do R&D on a 100M+ article news database and the user logs of Aconnect (deployed at 250+ major companies). The team is a top runner in Japanese-language, business-domain NLP, with research closely tied to product. Stack: Python. Full remote (residence within Japan). Native-level Japanese is expected. Full-time, based in Tokyo (Minami-Aoyama).
