This role leads the mobile development team for ReceiptChallenge, a savings and shopping-support app where users post receipts to earn points. The app has surpassed 15 million cumulative downloads. ReceiptChallenge also uses receipt OCR data, demographic information, and recipe-viewing history to support the use of offline purchase data in marketing and retail and manufacturer operations.

As the technical leader across iOS and Android, the role sets cross-platform architecture policies and makes technology-selection decisions. Responsibilities include planning improvements to mobile-specific performance issues such as application launch time and build time. The role also promotes AI-driven development by incorporating AI tools into the development workflow, including implementation planning, code generation, and review efficiency. Another objective is to establish AI-assisted development as a standard team process rather than leaving it to individual use.

The position has accompanying management responsibilities for a small team. These include one-to-one meetings, feedback, technical development of team members, and participation in hiring through technical interviews and feedback on the selection process.
