Senior Technical Sales Consultant

About this role

This Tokyo-based Senior Technical Sales Consultant supports Google Cloud customers with infrastructure and application modernization. The role partners with Sales teams to understand customer needs, differentiate Google Cloud solutions, and help prospective and existing customers address business and technical challenges.

Day-to-day work includes identifying and qualifying business opportunities, understanding key technical objections, and developing strategies to resolve technical blockers. The consultant provides enterprise infrastructure and application modernization expertise, supports technology advocacy, bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and technical relationships with customers. The role also works directly with Google Cloud products and infrastructure to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.

The consultant guides customers through assessments of legacy application environments and provides recommendations for prioritizing infrastructure and application modernization. Responsibilities include recommending integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure needed to implement complete solutions on Google Cloud. The role also involves explaining Google Cloud solutions, troubleshooting technical questions and roadblocks, and presenting practical solutions based on customer business and technical requirements.

Required qualifications are a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, at least 10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure sales in a customer-facing role, and experience with cloud infrastructure engineering, on-premise infrastructure engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms. Experience conducting technical conversations, demonstrations, prototyping, or customer workshops is also required. The consultant must communicate fluently in Japanese and English with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred experience includes driving delivery and consumption plans for complex, cross-pillar cloud solutions.
