Provide 24x7 support for Google Cloud Platform customers, owning large and important customer issues and supporting other support teams. Diagnose and resolve customer problems, or create investigation tools that increase productivity. Troubleshoot, reproduce, and determine root causes for issues involving networking, web technologies, systems administration, and applications. Use debugging, documentation updates, and coding or scripting; improve product adoption through changes to products, tools, processes, and documentation.
Develop knowledge of product technologies and underlying architectures. Act as a consultant and subject-matter expert for internal engineering and sales stakeholders and customer organizations, resolving deployment obstacles and improving Google Cloud. Work with Product, Engineering, and SRE teams to address customer needs and production quality. The role requires shifts or non-standard hours, including weekends as needed.
Requires a STEM bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, 9 years of troubleshooting, customer advocacy, and technical issue triage, networking and web technology experience, and Linux/Unix or Windows system-administration experience. Requires fluent English communication. Preferred experience includes virtualization, hybrid cloud, distributed systems, cloud computing, and multi-node workload debugging; fluent Chinese communication is preferred.
