Discord is a social communications platform built around gaming. Players and communities use servers, direct messages, voice and video calls, screen sharing, streaming and Activities to spend time together across PC, mobile and consoles. Discord reported more than 90 million daily active users as of Q4 2025.
The core service is free. Discord earns money through monthly and annual Nitro subscriptions, Server Boost subscriptions, profile items sold in its Shop and sponsored Quests for game developers and publishers. It also provides developers with APIs, apps, Activities, an in-game Social SDK and commerce tools; eligible developers and community operators can sell subscriptions or digital items through Discord’s checkout.
