Heroku is a Salesforce business unit offering a fully managed platform as a service for developers and businesses. Customers deploy and scale web apps, APIs, microservices and background jobs in Heroku-managed Linux containers called dynos, while Heroku operates the underlying runtime.
The platform combines compute with managed Postgres, key-value and Kafka data services, third-party add-ons, and tools that connect Heroku apps with Salesforce products. Heroku primarily charges for metered dyno and data-service usage, alongside fixed Eco plans and custom-priced enterprise services.
Heroku also provides Managed Inference and Agents, an add-on through which applications can access foundation models and tools for agent workflows.
