New Otani Co., Ltd. dates from 18 January 1963, when its predecessor Otani Kokusai Kanko was set up. Hotel New Otani opened in Kioicho, Chiyoda-ku, on 1 September 1964, adding the Tower in 1974, the Garden Court in 1991 and Executive House Zen in 2007. The company took its current name in 2012.
It directly runs Hotel New Otani (Tokyo), Hotel New Otani Osaka and Hotel New Otani Makuhari, and its group has 12 more hotels in Japan and one abroad. Group companies cover fitness, laundry, staffing and other services. Sales were ¥52.2 billion in the year to March 2025, and it had 1,632 employees on 1 April 2026. In Tokyo it hires full-time, contract and part-time staff for guest services, room attendants, sales, cooking and its sports club.
