About this role

This role develops and executes business strategy for the East Japan area, focusing on clients in the food service, hotel, or retail sectors. It works with major regional companies to identify underlying management issues from financial results, medium-term plans, and operational realities.

Responsibilities include estimating the cost-structure and profit impact of introducing spot work, presenting the rationale at profit-and-loss statement level, and designing new implementation schemes for environments where existing methods do not apply. The role may redesign business processes and operational flows, involve client headquarters and operating sites, and lead validation through practical implementation.

The consultant turns proven client successes into repeatable models for the wider industry, builds long-term relationships with executive stakeholders, and supports sustained business transformation rather than one-time adoption. The position also collaborates with cross-industry headquarters and business-unit teams to bring area-specific issues to the company and apply headquarters strategy assets locally. It reports directly to the Business Division Head.

Required qualifications are at least two years of corporate sales experience; industry knowledge and negotiation experience in food service, hotels, or retail; experience independently advancing projects while involving customers, internal stakeholders, and operating sites; and the ability to structure ambiguous issues into reproducible solutions. Preferred qualifications include deep industry or operations-optimization knowledge, HR organization consulting or HR technology knowledge, management or cross-functional experience, leadership of operational or business-process improvement initiatives, and experience launching new businesses or locations.

This is a full-time position based at the Hokkaido branch in Chuo Ward, Sapporo. The role has a three-month probationary period. The annual salary range is JPY 5.0 million to JPY 9.0 million, comprising base salary and bonus; eligible employees may also receive a short-term incentive. Compensation reviews occur twice yearly.

Working hours use a flextime system with core hours of 11:00 to 15:30. Standard hours are 09:30 to 18:30, with eight hours of work per day. The role provides 120 annual holidays, a full two-day weekend on Saturdays and Sundays, national holidays, annual paid leave, year-end/New Year holidays, condolence leave, and maternity leave before and after childbirth. Relax leave provides five paid days on the first day of employment and five additional days each year. Benefits include social insurance, commuting expenses up to JPY 50,000 per month, employee share ownership, book purchases, seminar subsidies, club activity support, team-building support, and a marriage congratulatory payment.
