Quality Assurance Specialist (OEM Quality Promotion)

The Quality Assurance Specialist supports OEM quality promotion for personal mobility products. The role improves the quality and speed of development and quality-information exchange with OEM partners in China and Taiwan, while working with internal development and manufacturing departments.

Daily responsibilities include quality and technical communication with Chinese and Taiwanese OEMs and WHILL’s internal teams. The specialist proactively collects information needed for quality decisions rather than only responding to inquiries. The role gathers information on quality issues, shares it internally, drives issue resolution, and records, updates, and tracks quality information so it can be retained as organizational knowledge. The scope of duties may change to work designated by the company.

The required background is approximately four years of experience negotiating with OEMs or suppliers and experience working for a manufacturer. Preferred experience includes quality assurance, quality control, and Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE), as well as related work in quality, design, or production engineering. Experience with Chinese or Taiwanese OEMs and experience in the mechanical, electrical, or mobility industries are also welcomed. Development audits, defect analysis, and market-quality response experience are additional preferred qualifications.

The position belongs to a six-member QA team. Its product context is short-distance mobility, including personal mobility products and autonomous mobility services. The team supports quality improvement while new models are developed and launched.

Applicants must be able to travel to China and Taiwan. During new-product launches, travel may occur once every one to two months and last approximately two weeks at busy times. The posting requires Japanese at approximately JLPT N1 level and Chinese at approximately HSK Level 6. It also calls for communication ability in a global environment, purposeful action, and careful, continuous recording, updating, and tracking of information.

This is a full-time employee position based in Tokyo, five minutes on foot from Tennozu Isle Station and 17 minutes from Shinagawa Station. The place of work may change to a location designated by the company, including a location where remote work is performed. Salary and benefits are not specified.
