About this role

The AI Solutions Architect leads the process of solving clients’ management challenges with AI. The role includes building relationships with clients, defining suitable AI applications and business impact through discussions with executives and business leaders, and leading upstream solution planning.

Responsibilities cover four phases. First, identify issues and formulate concepts by defining the appropriate AI use cases and expected business impact. Second, lead solution design with internal AI and machine-learning specialists and engineers, including technology selection, data strategy, system architecture and KPI design. Third, coordinate project delivery across internal researchers and engineers, client business and information-systems teams, and external partners. Fourth, measure results after implementation, support operational adoption and propose subsequent phases.

Required experience includes at least three years leading the planning and execution of upstream work in AI-development or system-development projects, including requirements definition, project planning and stakeholder coordination. Candidates must have knowledge or experience selecting technologies and designing architectures in either IT system architecture, including cloud environments, or AI, machine learning and data analysis. Experience presenting proposals, negotiating and building agreement with client executives or business-unit leaders is required. The posting also seeks experience taking ownership of client problem solving, data-based decision-making, numerical analysis, logical thinking and clear communication of complex matters.

Preferred qualifications include implementation experience in machine learning, statistical analysis or mathematical optimization; experience developing solutions using generative AI, LLMs or multimodal technology; end-to-end IT project experience from requirements definition through operations; web-application development in AWS, Azure or GCP cloud environments; and domain knowledge in finance, manufacturing, infrastructure or public services.

The role works with researchers, engineers, technical advisers and external partners. Projects are formed by engagement rather than assigning the person to one customer, with exposure to finance, manufacturing, satellite data and infrastructure domains. The work spans strategy, solution design and implementation, business-impact creation and operational adoption, using technologies such as generative AI, image analysis and satellite-data analysis.

This is a full-time, indefinite-term position with a six-month probationary period. The annual salary is 8,000,000–15,000,000 JPY, including a deemed overtime allowance for 45 hours per month; overtime beyond that is paid separately. Bonuses are paid twice yearly based on base salary and company performance. The work location is in Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. A discretionary work system provides eight deemed working hours per day, with general office hours from 9:30 to 18:30; during probation, a flextime system applies. Remote work is generally combined with coming to the office once per week, with client visits and field investigations as needed. Benefits include insurance, transportation allowance, paid leave, learning and qualification support, patent rewards, study sessions, equipment and book expenses, healthcare support and communication support.
