Develop and operate products related to data management infrastructure, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.

About this role

Belong, an in-house startup of Itochu operating a refurbished-smartphone sales, buyback and rental business, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its internal core systems. Belong handles millions of used devices per year and manages an ever-growing variety of iPhone, Android and tablet models, centered on a device master that defines each device's identity and integrates per-unit dynamic conditions (scratches, wear, carrier, etc.). The mission is to build and operate the system that precisely synchronizes physical device movement with one-of-a-kind digital data — the source of the company's competitiveness. With rapid growth and a major US-market expansion underway, this master-data platform is being spun out from a tech-lead's part-time responsibility into a dedicated team; the role is a core member leading that launch. Working style includes three office days per week (Tue/Wed/Thu) plus visits to the Zama operations center as needed. Full-time (seishain), based at the Tokyo head office in Akasaka. The posting is written in Japanese.
