Frontend Engineer

This position is responsible for frontend development for one of the following healthcare and pharmacy products: Musubi, a cloud electronic medication-record product; Musubi Insight, a cloud service for visualizing pharmacy management; Pocket Musubi, a patient follow-up system; or Musubi AI Inventory Management, a medicine inventory and ordering system.

The engineer works with product managers, designers, frontend and backend engineers, and pharmacists on the same team, providing frontend expertise and leadership. The main work is feature development for the selected product. Ongoing improvement work includes refactoring, building and maintaining a shared UI component foundation, and upgrading library versions.

After gaining an understanding of the relevant domain, the role is also expected or welcomed to contribute beyond implementation by proposing improvements to product and team operations. Examples include implementing with TypeScript, building and operating a system-monitoring foundation using tools such as Sentry, defining specifications in coordination with the product owner based on technical knowledge, and conducting technical feasibility studies.

The named development stack centers on React and TypeScript. The role is part of a medical-technology product organization with approximately 180 engineers and product managers. The organization supports information sharing through development blogs, study sessions, and conference presentations.

The listed work location is Tokyo, Japan.

The stated selection process consists of document screening, a casual interview, two to three interviews, an aptitude test, a reference check, and an offer meeting. The reference check uses Back Check and is completed online through questionnaire responses from people who worked with the candidate in a current or previous job.
