Infrastructure Engineer / SRE

This role builds, operates, and develops the cloud infrastructure supporting a platform based on Akerun Access Intelligence (AAI), an access authentication platform. Responsibilities include infrastructure setup for new services and the platform, technical solutions for system issues, CI/CD-based automation of systems and operations, reliability and performance improvements, incident response, and other infrastructure engineering work. Initial assignments include building AWS environments, improving the performance of existing systems, and preparing a DevSecOps environment. The role may also contribute to system replacement, new technology adoption, and architecture design.

The required experience includes at least two years of development or service operations using AWS, system monitoring and troubleshooting, identifying the causes of technical system problems and resolving them, and proposing solutions that support stable operation while considering maintenance costs. Desired experience includes implementing configuration management with infrastructure as code and container technologies, developing web systems using cloud services, programming for reliability and performance improvements, and designing system architecture. The role also calls for awareness of automation and labor-saving opportunities, the ability to acquire relevant technical knowledge, collaborate and coordinate with others, anticipate future needs, and make logical decisions while understanding other parties' intentions.

The development organization is building microservice-based services around AAI. The products include Akerun's cloud-based IoT access-management services, and the company is developing a horizontal SaaS service. The SRE scope covers system performance, availability, latency, efficiency, monitoring, capacity planning, and emergency response. Engineers work with web, firmware, mobile, QA, and SRE specialists in an organization of approximately 150 people whose development, sales, marketing, customer success, and logistics functions are handled internally. The company states that engineers can use Cursor, Devin, and Gemini Advanced for development and knowledge sharing.

The stated environment includes Ruby on Rails, Go, Vue.js, React, Docker, AWS, GCP, MySQL with Amazon Aurora, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, CircleCI, Jenkins, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Google Workspace, Slack, JIRA, GitHub, and Figma. A dual-track evaluation system supports management or specialist career paths.

The position is full-time and uses a discretionary work system. Annual compensation is listed as 7.0 to 10.0 million JPY, with monthly pay of 584,000 to 835,000 JPY including a discretionary allowance for 45 hours of overtime; additional premium pay is provided beyond that allowance. Salary reviews occur twice a year, in January and July. The probationary period is six months. Remote work is available, but the position is not fully remote and normally requires one office day per week at the Minato, Tokyo office; an office-centered style is also possible by preference. Average overtime is stated as approximately 15 to 20 hours per month.
