Mobile Tech Lead

This role provides technical leadership for mobile development of Resichalle, a consumer savings and shopping-support app with more than 15 million cumulative downloads. The app awards points for receipt submissions and uses receipt OCR data, demographic information, and recipe-viewing history to support the use of purchasing data in the offline retail and marketing domains.

The Mobile Tech Lead will guide both iOS and Android development. Responsibilities include setting cross-platform architecture policies, making technology-selection decisions, and planning improvements for mobile-specific performance issues such as application startup time and build time. The role also includes developing implementation plans, code generation, and review-efficiency improvements by incorporating AI tools into the development workflow. A key responsibility is moving AI use from individual practices to a standard development process for the team.

The role includes limited management responsibilities for a small team. These involve one-on-one meetings, feedback, technical development of team members, and participation in hiring through technical interviews and feedback on the selection process. The Android environment uses Kotlin, MVI and MVVM architectures, AWS CodeBuild, GitHub Actions, DeployGate, Jetpack Compose, ViewBinding, Kotlin Coroutines, RxJava, Dagger Hilt, Toothpick, OkHttp, Retrofit, Moshi, Room, Kotest, and Detekt. Slack, Figma, Notion, Redash, Firebase, and KARTE are also listed among the development tools and services.

The organization provides a monthly AI allowance of 100,000 JPY to all developers for combining AI tools according to their work. AI use is also being introduced across business functions, and the role is expected to help standardize AI-driven development at team and organizational level. The development environment includes one-week sprints, daily morning meetings, and Working Out Loud. Technical growth support includes operating a tech blog, encouraging and supporting conference presentations, and internal study sessions and knowledge sharing.

The stated work location is the Minato area of Tokyo. The supplied office equipment includes a MacBook Pro M4 Max with 64 GB memory and 1 TB storage, updated to the latest model every two years, a choice of JIS or US keyboard and 14-inch or 16-inch display, and a 27-inch 4K monitor. The role may develop toward engineering management or responsibility for application development.
