Speee's real-industry DX division runs about ten businesses, including the real-estate valuation service Ieul, Ieul Land Use, Sumai Step, the members-only home search Housii, the renovation matching platform Nurikae, the care-facility platform Caresul Kaigo and a SaaS service in preparation. A new Product Engineer joins the product team of the business that best fits their first one to two years. Teams are small scrum teams of ten or fewer, usually one team per business.
Each engineer is expected to deeply understand the business and product and to release features customers use. Examples of the work: planning and defining requirements for feature additions and improvements; designing, implementing, testing and reviewing API and front-end components; making architecture decisions including technology selection and writing ADRs; and measuring and improving site and database performance. Teams plan in three-month development themes and make a point of aligning business members and engineers on why and what is being built.
