Project Manager

This full-time Project Manager leads customer-specific development projects for major Japanese companies using Speeda’s economic information together with data held by each customer. The role works with customers to examine feasibility, define and agree on scope and success criteria, design system architecture within the customer’s environmental constraints, and coordinate multiple customer departments and internal reviews.

Responsibilities include designing and building data pipelines that transfer corporate finance, news and disclosure data into customer environments; matching and reconciling that information with customer-owned data; and creating data models suited to analysis and search. The role also drives development and implementation, production deployment, and post-launch operation and maintenance. The scope varies according to project phase and size. Customer-site work may occur, so the person must be able to attend the office and visit customers.

Required qualifications include at least approximately three years of practical IT project management experience, including upstream work such as requirements definition and direct agreement with customers on scope and deadlines. Candidates must also have experience designing and implementing systems themselves and handling operation after launch, with the ability to assess technical options and their consequences. Native-level communication in Japanese is required.

Preferred experience includes working with financial institutions, major operating companies or consulting firms with high security requirements; building and operating pipelines for mixed structured and unstructured corporate and financial data; system construction in on-premises environments or customer cloud tenants; and responding to security check sheets, outsourced-provider reviews and vulnerability assessments. The role suits people who want to make technical decisions as well as manage progress, can begin work when specifications are not yet fixed, and are willing to handle reviews, approvals and cross-department coordination.

The standard technology stack uses Kotlin and Spring Boot for backend development, TypeScript and Next.js for frontend development, Google Cloud and AWS for infrastructure, including customer tenants, and PostgreSQL and Snowflake for data stores. Workflow-management and data-transfer tools are used to build pipelines, with tool selection varying by customer constraints. Development tools include Slack, Google Workspace, Notion, Figma, GitHub, Docker, Datadog, Claude Code, Codex and Devin. Customer review may restrict the use of some tools.

The position is based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, and remote work is available. Employment is regular and annual salary is JPY 7,000,000–12,000,000, determined according to experience and skills during the selection process. Working hours use a super-flex system. Holidays include weekends and public holidays, at least 10 days of paid leave, and a long-vacation benefit providing two seven-day consecutive breaks per year, including weekends, separately from paid leave. Benefits include commuting expenses up to JPY 50,000 per month, a company-provided PC selected from a catalogue, and a reduced-hours制度. The position is covered by the Kanto IT Software Health Insurance Association. The possible work-location range includes the employee’s home, the headquarters or another company-approved location, and duties may change to any work specified by the company. Smoking is prohibited in workspaces, with smoking limited to a designated room in the office building; no work is performed in smoking-permitted areas.
