This SRE role supports services and data products for the commercial real estate sector, including the urban data analysis platform estie Office Research. The SRE team currently has three members and is responsible for improving reliability across multiple services.
Day-to-day work includes building new services and modifying and operating existing services using AWS. The role also involves creating and operating monitoring environments for incident detection and capacity planning, developing and maintaining platforms and tools that improve developer experience, responding to client questions about security and implementing improvements, and operating applications and middleware while improving performance.
The reliability scope includes defining and operating service reliability, including SLOs, establishing consistent monitoring and rapid detection, stabilizing security management, addressing information leakage risks, and designing architectures with security in mind. The position offers involvement in new product launches, close collaboration with product development teams, and the opportunity to work across a broad technical and business scope. It also includes proposing and building company-wide mechanisms as the SRE platform is being developed.
Required experience includes delivering improvements or initial implementations as an SRE. Examples include improving observability; defining and operating SLOs; building or improving CI/CD environments from the ground up; improving database-query or other performance in cooperation with development teams; substantially reducing public-cloud service costs; operating Docker; using Infrastructure as Code in practice; building and operating services on public clouds such as AWS, Azure, or GCP; basic knowledge of networks and security; small-scale scripting or software development; and using Git and GitHub.

The position is permanent with no fixed contract term and has a three-month probationary period from the start date. Office attendance and remote work are recommended in combination, with a residence guideline of within the Tokyo metropolitan area or within a 90-minute one-way ordinary-train commute.
The work system is discretionary labor. Working hours are based on 10:00–19:00, while the employee determines starting and finishing times. A one-hour break is provided during work when working more than six hours. Work beyond scheduled hours may occur, and the deemed working time on scheduled workdays is set by a labor-management agreement. Annual holidays total 125 days, with weekends and national holidays off, three days of summer leave usable through December, three days of Welcome Leave usable during probation, and year-end and New Year holidays.
