This full-time Web Application Engineer role develops and maintains software for a multi-product business focused on commercial real estate. The work includes developing new features that deliver value to customers, resolving technical issues proposed by engineers, improving implementations for more efficient processing, and maintaining existing software. The role also involves proposing ideas for using large volumes of real-estate data, conducting proofs of concept, building prototypes, and launching new products and projects.

Required qualifications are systematic software knowledge, experience developing commercial applications, and experience proposing and planning improvements to a service or system. Preferred experience includes practical frontend development with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular; backend development using web application frameworks; development using Rust, Ruby, TypeScript, or AWS; launching an in-house service; continuously developing and operating a service; and project management or team leadership.
The frontend environment includes Next.js, React, and TypeScript. GraphQL is used as the interface with the frontend. Backend environments vary by product and include Rust with actix-web and async-graphql, Ruby on Rails, and TypeScript with Node.js and NestJS. Python and Streamlit are used for internal analysis tools. Development tools include GitHub, GitHub Actions for CI/CD, Sentry and Datadog for monitoring, JIRA for task management, Slack for communication, and GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, Devin, and Codex for development support. Generative AI and other new technologies may be applied to business problems.
The employment contract has no fixed term and includes a three-month probationary period from the start date. The initial workplace is the head office in Minato, Tokyo, or another company-designated location. The possible change of workplace includes offices in Tokyo and Niigata and other designated locations. Remote work is available, and combined office and remote work is encouraged. The residence guideline is within the Tokyo metropolitan area or within a 90-minute one-way commute by regular train.
