Kidswell Bio

Biosimilars & Cell-Therapy Research · Chuo, Tokyo

Kidswell Bio runs two businesses. In biosimilars, follow-on versions of biologic medicines, it has been involved in launching four products and earns revenue by supplying drug substance and formulations to partner pharmaceutical companies, plus royalties on their sales. With Chiome Bioscience, Alfresa Holdings and Mycenax Biotech it is developing new biosimilars and building a domestic manufacturing facility.

Its cell therapy business, run through subsidiary S-Quatre, aims to bring regenerative medicine products to market using SQ-SHED, stem cells taken from the dental pulp of baby teeth. Baby teeth can be collected as they fall out, which places little burden on donors. The company is based in Nihonbashi-Honcho, Chuo, Tokyo.
