Perseus Proteomics

Antibody Drug Discovery · Chuo, Tokyo

Perseus Proteomics was established in 2001 on protein-expression and antibody-generation technologies developed at the University of Tokyo's Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology. Drug discovery is its main business: it usually takes candidates through phase I/IIa clinical trials and then licenses them to pharmaceutical companies, earning upfront, milestone and royalty payments.

Its antibody research support covers antibody generation and sequence analysis, including screening with a VHH antibody library. Its research-product business sells about 100 antibody products, among them antibodies against all 48 human nuclear receptors, plus ELISA kits for measuring PTX3. The head office is in Chuo, Tokyo, with a laboratory in Nagoya.
