Kokusai Electric develops, manufactures, sells and installs semiconductor manufacturing equipment focused on the deposition and treatment processes. Its deposition equipment forms thin films such as polysilicon and insulating film on wafers, and its batch deposition systems, which process multiple wafers at once, are the group's flagship products. Batch ALD combines atomic-layer deposition with batch processing for deep, complex 3D device structures.
Its treatment equipment improves film properties after deposition by removing impurities with plasma and heat. Services cover maintenance, repair, parts sales, moving and modifying equipment, used equipment and customer training. The head office moved to Otemachi, Chiyoda, Tokyo in January 2026, and the group had 2,472 consolidated employees as of March 31, 2024.
