Nippon Chemi-Con

Capacitors · Electronic Materials · Shinagawa, Tokyo

Nippon Chemi-Con traces its history to 1931, when the first electrolytic capacitor was commercialized in Japan, and reports the largest global share in aluminum electrolytic capacitors. It also leads in producing aluminum electrode foil, the main material that determines capacitor performance, and supplies it to other capacitor makers.

Building on its capacitor technologies, it has expanded into multilayer ceramic capacitors, metal oxide varistors, choke coils, circuits and high-capacity supercapacitors. It also proposes electronic-component modules, such as 48V DC-link modules and a charge/discharge module for supercapacitor evaluation. The group had 5,348 consolidated employees as of March 31, 2026.
