Roblox operates an online platform for immersive 3D experiences. Users access community-created games and social spaces through Roblox Client, while creators use the free Roblox Studio toolset and Roblox Cloud services to build, publish, operate and monetize experiences, avatars and other virtual items.
The platform is free to use and serves players, creators and brands. Roblox generates substantially all of its revenue from users’ access to virtual items, funded mainly through one-time or subscription purchases of Robux; it also sells advertising. Eligible creators can exchange earned Robux for cash through the Developer Exchange Program.
