Lead design-production operations, managing projects, assignments, capacity, progress and quality. Improve and standardize workflows, and drive automation using systems and AI.

About this role

This role leads operations for an original design production service priced from JPY 10,000. The service provides original designs by professional designers, with delivery data that customers can edit and share on the Raksul platform. The business is targeting annual sales of JPY 200 million and 4,500 projects as it expands. The operations team is addressing inconsistent quality and workflows that depend on individual expertise.

The successful candidate first learns the existing design-production operation, including project assignment, progress and capacity management. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing projects, schedules and quality; monitoring available capacity and assigning suitable members; deciding how to handle escalations and exceptional situations; and monitoring member productivity while supporting improvements. The role also coordinates and facilitates meetings with internal departments and external partners.

A core responsibility is to analyze and visualize workflows that have become dependent on individuals, identify issues, create manuals, and establish standardized operating rules. The role plans and advances projects to improve efficiency and automate work through system integration and AI. It is a hands-on leadership position that combines understanding frontline operations with building repeatable processes.

Required qualifications are experience in project progress management or in creating and improving business workflows, together with at least three years of professional work experience. Preferred experience includes building operational foundations and carrying out practical work in a startup or venture company, leadership experience or independently driving work in a small organization, process improvement and standardization based on business analysis, practical use of Illustrator and Photoshop or knowledge of DTP and design production, and the ability to create proposal materials and documents using tools such as PowerPoint. The posting also describes adaptability in changing conditions, willingness to learn detailed operational work, independent problem solving, and the ability to combine hands-on work with process development.

Employment is permanent, with a three-month probationary period and no change in conditions during probation. Annual compensation is determined based on experience and previous salary; the stated example is JPY 4,050,000 per year, including a fixed payment for 20 hours of overtime, with additional payment for excess overtime. Bonuses are paid twice yearly, in March and September, subject to business performance, evaluation and actual working rate.

The work location is the Azabudai office in Minato, Tokyo, or a company-approved home or equivalent remote-work location. The work style combines remote work with several office days each week. Working hours follow a shift schedule of 9:00–18:00 or 10:00–19:00. The position is covered by the stated health, employees' pension, employment and workers' accident insurance programs. Benefits and support include a corporate defined-contribution pension, company-leased housing, childcare and nursing-care leave, a return-from-parental-leave payment, condolence benefits, babysitter discount vouchers, access to corporate-led childcare facilities, a refresh leave program, year-end and New Year leave, paid leave granted from joining, and long-service awards. Onboarding training, skills-development support, language-learning support and a technical-book purchasing program for some positions are also provided.
