Construction Management Specialist

This full-time role manages construction and equipment installation work for pump facilities. As the site representative, the employee oversees construction execution, schedules and safety at pump-station construction sites and equipment installation locations.

The work mainly covers projects ordered by public authorities, including new pump-equipment installations and maintenance or repair work for existing pump facilities at water purification plants and water conveyance and distribution pump stations. Travel is primarily within the Kanto region.

A regular driver's license is required. Candidates must also have at least one of the following: a degree in a designated field such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or architecture; a first- or second-class plumbing construction management engineer qualification or assistant qualification; a first- or second-class electrical construction management engineer qualification or assistant qualification; a first- or second-class building construction management engineer qualification or assistant qualification; or construction management experience. The position belongs to the Eastern Japan Pump Construction Department, Tokyo Construction Sections 1, 2 and 3, within Kubota Environmental Engineering's Pump Business Division. The division handles operation and maintenance, design, construction and repair of pump facilities connected with water supply, wastewater, water distribution, drainage and irrigation projects. It covers work from new equipment installation through maintenance, refurbishment and repair.

The work location is the Tokyo headquarters in Kyobashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. Working hours are 8:30 to 17:15, with eight scheduled working hours and a 45-minute break from 12:00 to 12:45. Overtime is required when applicable. The company states that workloads are divided into clearer busy and quiet periods, and some quiet-season months have almost no overtime. Annual holidays total 125 days, with a two-day weekend system, public holidays, summer, year-end and New Year, and Golden Week holidays. Holiday work may occur depending on the workload, with substitute leave provided. Annual paid leave is 10 days in the first year and up to 20 days, and the average number of paid-leave days taken is 11.2.

Monthly pay is JPY 235,000 to 385,000, plus 100% payment of overtime and other allowances. The estimated annual income is JPY 4.5 million to 7.7 million, including overtime, and may vary through selection. A six-month probationary period applies with no change in pay or treatment. Additional payments include transportation, meal, housing, family, business-trip, qualification, site representative and other allowances. Travel allowances for trips of fewer than 30 days include accommodation of JPY 10,500 per day and a daily allowance of JPY 2,100; different amounts apply for trips of 30 days or more.
