About this role

This role manages infrastructure facilities at Nikon’s headquarters. Responsibilities include the operation, maintenance and management of buildings and equipment, along with ordering and acceptance inspections related to this work.

The position also plans and evaluates construction work and energy-saving measures, aggregates and manages energy used at the headquarters, prepares reports for government authorities, and handles other related duties. The team arranges and coordinates the introduction of equipment for development activities at the headquarters and maintains infrastructure operations.

Applicants must hold a Class 2 Chief Electrical Engineer qualification. They must also have experience in at least one area related to utility systems such as electrical, air-conditioning, or water supply and drainage equipment, including design, construction, or maintenance management. Experience managing facilities or managing construction work on site is also required.

Preferred qualifications and experience include an Energy Manager qualification, Building Sanitation Management Engineer qualification, construction management qualifications for building, electrical, or plumbing work, and extensive field experience at a subcontractor or in a factory maintenance department.

The work environment covers multiple facility disciplines rather than being limited to electrical or air-conditioning systems. The role can develop from routine maintenance and repairs to planning facility work and participating in large-scale projects. Opportunities to acquire additional qualifications are available through building knowledge and experience. Depending on performance, the role may include facility-operation strategy for the wider group or cross-organizational rotations.

The position is based at Nikon’s headquarters in Shinagawa, Tokyo. Remote work is available. Working hours are eight actual hours under a super-flextime system, with average overtime of approximately 5–10 hours per month. The trial period is three months. Benefits include commuting expenses, social insurance, a housing allowance subject to conditions, an employee stock ownership plan, defined-contribution pension, retirement allowance, childcare and nursing-care programs, and club activities. Annual holidays total 128 days, with a five-day workweek and additional seasonal, year-end, paid, special, condolence, and refreshment leave.
