Duties include advising on the selection, integration and calibration of spacecraft instrumentation, including test measurement, research and development, and flight instrumentation. The role also supports data acquisition system integration and setup.

Additional work covers formulating spacecraft test requirements and preparing test plans, specifications, procedures and reports. The engineer reviews supplier test and verification activities and manages ispace verification testing activities. Engineering work may involve mechanical, electronic or chemical products designed to meet customer technical and functional specifications and manufacturing cost and efficiency requirements.

The role includes 3D design studies and mathematical modelling to assess technical feasibility, as well as participation in prototype design, testing, modification, fabrication and assembly. It may also involve product-specific manufacturing processes and equipment. The engineer reviews and improves internal Mechanical AIT processes, procedures and other technical documents, and reports to the Mechanical AIT Team Lead.
