The engineer will also work on optimizing mechanical elements including rolling bearings, mechanical seals, solid-lubrication tribology, and material properties.
The role involves forming hypotheses about the causes of technical issues and planning experiments to verify and resolve them. Duties also include preparing and setting up experimental equipment and measurement instruments, conducting experiments, analyzing data, considering and judging the causes of observed results, and preparing reports.
The engineer will develop new experimental, measurement, and analysis methods to make unexplained phenomena observable. The role also includes technical information exchange and, when necessary, collaboration with external and internal specialist organizations such as research institutions, measurement-equipment manufacturers, and test-equipment manufacturers.
