AI Application and Agent Project Manager

This project manager will work in the Digital Strategy Department on projects that promote the use of generative AI and AI agents. The role leads projects for planning, developing, introducing, operating, and continuously improving AI products and AI agents, from PoC initiation through production release and post-release operational improvement.

Responsibilities include defining project scope, designing project structures, and creating milestones and schedules. The manager oversees MVP and PoC progress, including task management and the visualization and resolution of progress issues and risks. The role coordinates business divisions, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders and facilitates agreement among them.

The position also coordinates reviews covering development, quality, security, and risk before production launch. It includes release management, release decisions, transition planning, and handover to operations teams. Projects may cover both new PoC development and the operation and continuous improvement of released AI products.

The team works closely with engineers, designers, business members, and data scientists involved in research and development. The work includes collaboration across business, development, and design, with projects progressing through hypothesis testing, release, and operational improvement. The role also involves handling current AI models and features, and considering information-asset management and cybersecurity in project management.

Required experience includes participation in projects involving system development or digital services, regardless of whether the candidate served as a project manager, development engineer, or consultant. Candidates must have experience independently managing task progress and organizing and resolving issues while working with multiple stakeholders, such as business divisions, engineers, and external partners. Experience facilitating meetings, preparing minutes and documents, structuring discussion points, and building agreement is also required, as is experience monitoring the overall team situation and proactively addressing delays and risks.

Strong interest in generative AI and AI agents and an intention to develop a career as a project manager are required. Desired qualifications include project management experience for AI products, experience planning or improving generative AI functions, experience across multiple phases from concept and demonstrations to PoC, production, and operations, and understanding of security, privacy, and regulations. Knowledge of development and operations using AWS, Azure, or GCP, data analysis using SQL or BI, A/B testing, and system or incident operations is also welcomed.

Employment is permanent, with a six-month probationary period and the same salary during probation. The workplace is in Tokyo, with hybrid office and remote work. Standard hours are 8:40 to 17:10, including a 60-minute break, although flextime may apply depending on the department. Weekends, public holidays, and year-end and New Year holidays are generally days off.
