Cybersecurity Technical Countermeasures and Operations Project Manager

This role plans, promotes, and manages cybersecurity technology initiatives across the Mizuho Group, including domestic and overseas locations. Responsibilities include identifying insufficient controls through risk assessments, prioritizing issues, setting countermeasure policies, and launching or renewing projects involving zero-trust products, privileged ID management, logging, and SIEM platforms.

The position also leads the implementation, improvement, management, and post-implementation operation of security products and related IT systems. Depending on experience and skills, the role may manage an individual project or coordinate multiple projects as a program manager. It includes designing operating models and managing large-scale infrastructure and security-tool implementation projects while coordinating multiple teams, internal and external stakeholders, and vendors.

Required qualifications include specialized knowledge and practical experience in security technology and infrastructure. Examples include designing, implementing, and operating security infrastructure, networks, servers, or cloud platforms at a financial institution or large company, or leading security-solution implementation projects at an IT vendor or system integrator. Applicants must understand security products and foundational technologies such as networks, servers, and cloud platforms, and must have managed infrastructure projects or security-tool implementation projects. The role requires the ability to understand technical issues and risks and lead decisions rather than only managing schedules and processes.

Preferred qualifications include certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, Registered Information Security Specialist, or GIAC, as well as network or cloud certifications including CCNP, AWS certifications, or Azure certifications. Experience participating in security infrastructure renewal or security modernization projects for financial institutions or critical infrastructure operators is also preferred. Business-level English is preferred.

The cybersecurity organization combines frontline defense, detection, and response functions with group-wide rulemaking and governance. The role covers important infrastructure systems, large-scale cloud environments, overseas locations, and overseas subsidiaries. The work location is Tokyo, with possible changes to company-designated locations including telework locations. This is a permanent full-time position with a six-month probationary period. Standard working hours are 8:40 to 17:10, including 7.5 working hours and a 60-minute break; flextime may apply depending on the department. Overtime and holiday work may be required.
