Data Platform Engineer

This role develops, operates, and improves the data platform used to process and accumulate large volumes of gameplay data from users around the world. The department analyzes data from consumer game titles continuously from development through post-launch to understand player behavior, improve titles, and support future projects. The work covers many consumer game titles, including AAA-scale games played by millions of users globally.

Main responsibilities include designing, building, and operating scalable data pipelines; maintaining stable and efficient operation of the data platform; and developing internal tools that support data analysis and the platform. The platform must process large amounts of daily user data quickly, reliably, and without omissions.

Required qualifications include experience as a data engineer or in server-side application development, experience building systems with Google Cloud or AWS, at least one year of programming experience with Python or Java, and experience developing or operating systems using SQL. Previous development experience related to games is not required.

Preferred experience includes building or operating large-scale user platforms, knowledge and practical experience as an infrastructure engineer, knowledge of CI/CD, web application development experience, and experience implementing and operating machine-learning models. The position is a permanent, full-time role based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, at Shinjuku Mitsui Building. Working hours are 10:00 to 18:30, with standard working hours of 7.5 hours per day.
