This full-time software engineering role is part of the Real Estate AI Lab, launched in January 2025. The lab combines commercial real estate data and AI to develop solutions for rental transactions, property sales and urban development. Current work includes rent estimation and AI agents specialized for real estate.
The role focuses on delivering AI models to users as software rather than researching the models themselves. Responsibilities include designing and implementing models and data pipelines for stable production operation, establishing and operating MLOps practices such as CI/CD, monitoring and alert design, and implementing applications in cooperation with other product teams. The engineer also identifies AI use cases and customer needs with business members, plans AI products, leads development from proof of concept through minimum viable product, and supports product growth with customer value in mind.
Required qualifications include deep software development experience, systematic software knowledge, experience leading improvements to system stability and codebase extensibility, and experience selecting architectures and technologies suited to business needs. Candidates should be familiar with multiple programming languages and technologies, able to collaborate with business members, engineers and designers from different backgrounds, and able to move quickly from proof of concept to productization.
Preferred experience includes using large language models such as ChatGPT, working with different models including the ChatGPT API, building MLOps environments, and introducing Docker, Kubernetes or CI/CD for machine-learning systems. The development environment includes Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow and scikit-learn; AWS and GCP; GitHub; GitHub Actions; Sentry; Datadog; JIRA; Slack; and development-support tools including GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, Devin and Codex. The annual salary listed for the role is 7,000,000 to 15,000,000 JPY, with the final grade and amount determined individually. Monthly pay includes a fixed allowance equivalent to 40 hours of overtime; additional payment is made when calculated overtime, holiday or late-night premiums exceed that allowance. Salary revisions and bonuses may each be provided up to twice a year depending on company and individual performance.
The position is permanent with a three-month probationary period from the start date. The work location is the head office in Minato, Tokyo, with other company-designated locations possible. Office attendance combined with remote work is encouraged, and the residence guideline is within the Tokyo metropolitan area or within a 90-minute one-way ordinary-train commute. The discretionary labor system applies, with 10:00–19:00 as the basic schedule and start and end times entrusted to the employee. A one-hour break is provided when work exceeds six hours, and work beyond scheduled hours may occur.
Holidays are Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, with 125 annual holidays.
