Data Platform Engineer

The Data Platform Engineer will develop and operate the internal data management platform for real-estate data. Responsibilities include building and maintaining Snowflake data infrastructure and the pipelines used to collect, process, and store data, as well as planning and promoting data security and data governance so teams can use important business data safely.

The role also supports internal efficiency initiatives for corporate, sales, and customer success teams. Current work includes connecting a customer-success SaaS product with the internal data platform and designing and developing the data structures needed for smooth data use.

The engineer will build and operate data analytics platforms and BI dashboards for internal members. These platforms enable sales and customer success staff to analyze accumulated real-estate data for customer reporting and consulting. The role also includes developing and operating dashboards that visualize management metrics such as sales for executives and business teams.

The position covers data marts that allow business members with limited SQL expertise to handle data with simple SQL, standardized data-analysis applications, and more ad hoc analysis environments using generative AI and LLM technologies. It also involves creating mechanisms that maintain the quality of analytical outputs. The engineer will work across management, corporate, business, and product-development teams, contributing from business planning through delivery. The data platform currently operates with few incidents, allowing focus on new development and feature improvements.

The named technology environment includes Snowflake for the data warehouse; Fivetran and dbt for ETL/ELT; Terraform for infrastructure as code; Tableau and Streamlit in Snowflake for BI; GitHub for code management; GitHub Actions for CI/CD; JIRA for task management; Slack for communication; and GitHub Copilot. Experience with a data warehouse such as Snowflake or BigQuery and ETL/ELT-based data platforms is required, as is practical experience operating databases or data warehouses with SQL or Python. Experience discussing work goals and coordinating with members inside and outside the team is also required. Experience with Snowflake or dbt, knowledge of or development experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, Terraform-based infrastructure management, and BI tools such as Tableau or Looker are welcomed.

The employment is full-time with no fixed contract term and includes a three-month probationary period from the start date. The workplace is in Minato, Tokyo. Office attendance combined with remote work is encouraged, and the stated residence guideline is within Tokyo and the surrounding three prefectures or within a 90-minute one-way ordinary-train commute. The work system is discretionary labor, based on 10:00–19:00, with start and end times left to the worker; a one-hour break is provided when work exceeds six hours, and work beyond scheduled hours may occur. Holidays are Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, with 125 annual holidays, three days of summer leave, three days of Welcome Leave during probation, and year-end and New Year holidays. Benefits include housing and moving-cost subsidies, support for qualifications and book purchases, and company-paid study-meeting fees. Social insurance is provided, and a smoking room is installed. The listed annual salary range is 6–12 million JPY, while the final grade and amount are determined individually; monthly pay includes a fixed allowance equivalent to 40 hours of overtime, with additional payment when applicable. Salary revisions and bonuses may each be provided up to twice a year depending on company and individual performance.
