Data Scientist

This Data Scientist role supports a new business focused on patient-centered healthcare experiences. It uses pharmacy-operations data and personal data accumulated through products to visualize and analyze changes in patient behavior and awareness, and to help develop services that encourage patient engagement.

Responsibilities include analyzing the pharmaceutical market and prescription practices; contributing to product and service development intended to encourage behavior change among patients and healthcare professionals; designing NSMs and KPIs; visualizing data to support product-improvement decisions; and supporting the design and construction of data marts and a data warehouse (DWH) for an analytics foundation.

The role is part of the development organization. The listed team has four full-time members: one engineering manager and three data scientists/data analysts. It works with a three-person analyst team specializing in medical data, advancing service development from both business and product perspectives.

The named development environment includes SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebook, Redash, and Databricks. The internal generative-AI tools listed are OpenAI, Gemini, and Claude through Amazon Bedrock. AI SaaS tools listed are GitHub Copilot, Dify, Cursor, Devin, and NotebookLM. The organization has a cross-functional AI community where engineers, product managers, and designers share knowledge and hold study sessions. Because the work handles medical information, internal guidelines address security risks and the responsible use of these tools.

The stated selection process consists of document screening, a casual interview, two to three interviews, an aptitude test, a reference check using back check, and an offer meeting.
