Data Engineer (Leadership Candidate)

This full-time Data Engineer role focuses on building the data platform that supports company-wide decision-making and business growth. The role covers data management and data engineering across the company’s services, including the Mitsumore platform and the ProOne vertical SaaS product. The data platform is used for activities such as improving the questions shown when preparing estimates and assessing product development priorities.

Responsibilities include designing and developing the data platform architecture, implementing ELT and ETL processes, and developing and operating data pipelines using tools such as dbt. The role also covers introducing, developing and operating data visualization and analysis tools, establishing data management and governance based on DMBOK, managing the team, and promoting data use through collaboration with other teams and departments.

Expected outcomes include creating and executing a roadmap for Mitsumore’s data platform, increasing employee use of data, creating and maintaining internal data management rules and guidelines, and strengthening data management practices. The role will also support analysis infrastructure for the needs of users and service providers in field services, improve pipelines for ProOne, and develop data infrastructure that works across Mitsumore and ProOne. Future work may include building mechanisms that promote data use, such as MLOps.

Required qualifications are experience implementing data pipelines in a cloud environment, or experience designing, developing and operating a data analysis platform in any field. Practical experience using, introducing or implementing BI tools such as Redash or Metabase is also required, along with knowledge of data governance and information security management.

Preferred qualifications include understanding of databases such as BigQuery and PostgreSQL; knowledge or experience in DMBOK-based data management or DMM-based data management maturity assessments; practical experience using SQL for data extraction, analysis, KPI management or visualization; practical experience with BigQuery, GCP or AWS; experience building analysis platforms for CDC; experience handling data requiring anonymization; foundational knowledge of data science, statistics and machine learning; business-level English; and contributions to open-source software.

The product division includes engineers from more than 12 countries, and all engineers can use GitHub Copilot. The company operates Mitsumore, ProOne and Hatchu, and Mitsumore provides more than 700 services. Candidates are expected to identify with the company’s mission, take responsibility for completing work, and communicate smoothly with team members and related departments.

The work location is the company’s office in Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. The position uses a flextime system with core hours from 11:00 to 16:00 and a 60-minute break during working hours. The listed annual salary range is ¥7.5 million to ¥9.5 million. The stated pay components are a base salary of ¥477,215–¥604,504 and a job-duty allowance of ¥147,901–¥187,351; the allowance covers 40 hours of fixed overtime, with additional overtime pay for work exceeding 40 hours. The scope of duties and work location may be changed to those designated by the company. The workplace is non-smoking.
