Generative AI Product Manager

This is a Product Manager and Product Owner role for generative-AI products in the pharmacy-centered healthcare domain. The position is based at 105-0003, 2-8-6 Nishishinbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo, at the Sumitomo Fudosan Hibiya Building 5F.

The role covers business and product decisions for the assigned service, from planning to delivering value to users and supporting business growth. Responsibilities include developing business and sales strategies; planning improvements to the business, services and features; defining requirements and considering specifications; analyzing data to identify problems and propose improvements; understanding technical challenges and determining countermeasures and direction; managing projects; promoting product use inside and outside the company; operating services; and coordinating with sales and customer success, marketing, public relations, legal and other internal functions.

The product area is the pharmacy SaaS business and its product portfolio, including Musubi, Pocket Musubi, Musubi Insight and Musubi AI Inventory. The company is adding functions that use generative AI, including LLMs, to these products. The posting states that generative AI is still technically new, practical product-development practices are not yet established, and there are few examples of using generative AI in pharmacy operations. The role therefore involves working in an area without established answers about which functions to provide, at what price points and in what way.

The Product Manager will work with existing senior product managers on product management for generative-AI products for pharmacies. The role also participates in sales-strategy and business-planning work, with an expectation of eventually leading the business as a product lead.

The selection process consists of document screening, a casual interview, three to four interviews, an aptitude test, a reference check and an offer meeting. The reference check uses back check and collects questionnaire-based information from people who worked with the candidate in their current or previous employment.
