Machine Learning Engineer

This is a Machine Learning Engineer position in M3's engineering group, in the AI and machine learning team, whose mission is to improve the quality of healthcare with AI and machine learning. The team works across businesses on service improvement and development, mainly machine learning engines used across services and new services with machine learning at their core.

The work includes improving web service experiences with machine learning, for example content recommendation, personalized email newsletters and search; developing new machine-learning-based services, such as summarizing, translating and curating specialist text for physicians, predicting health risks from employee checkup data, and searching for rare diseases from symptoms; and building ML products used directly in clinical settings together with the electronic medical record business and medical devices. The stack includes Python, Go, PyTorch, BigQuery, GKE, Terraform and Elasticsearch.

Applicants need expert knowledge and practical experience in machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision or recommendation, a habit of reading at least 60 machine learning papers a year and reproducing at least six, and experience writing production code in a language such as Python. The initial location is the company headquarters in Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo, which may change to a location designated by the company. Engineers mostly work remotely, with two office days per month.
