About this role
This role is part of the Digital Strategy Department, which promotes generative AI and AI-agent initiatives. The position designs the upstream operating model for internally developed AI applications and agents in production and leads evaluation, selection, and implementation decisions for IT tools, AI tools, and SaaS products.
Responsibilities include planning operating structures, role allocations, and operating rules across multiple products; defining requirements and workflows for monitoring, logs, and quality, accuracy, and hallucination evaluation; designing incident response, outage response, and escalation processes; and planning security guardrails covering permissions, access control, audit logs, and information assets. The role also plans monitoring and optimization for usage and costs such as API fees, selects and standardizes monitoring and LLMOps tools, and supports reliable, safe, and continuous operations.
The role gathers information on candidate tools, plans and conducts PoCs and trials in verification environments, personally checks effectiveness, cost, security, and operational burden, and leads decisions on whether to adopt them. It also coordinates requirements and handover design for post-implementation adoption and operational transfer, tracks technology trends, and shares evaluation knowledge internally. The position works closely with product managers, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders, combining planning and design with hands-on verification.
Required experience includes one or more of the following: PM, PMO, or planning and promotion for IT projects or system implementations; practical experience evaluating, selecting, or planning implementation of IT or AI tools or SaaS; system operations or IT planning, including operating rules and process design; experience judging and explaining adoption or operational policies based on data and verification results; stakeholder coordination involving requirements, decisions, and consensus building; or hands-on verification of tools or systems in test environments.
Desired qualifications include knowledge of operational design or improvement for systems using generative AI or AI agents, including LLMOps or MLOps; experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or SaaS; monitoring, observability, or log-platform configuration and verification; understanding of security, privacy, and regulations; hands-on PoC and technical verification through reporting; documentation and company-wide standardization of operating rules or governance; and experience building systems across multiple stakeholders.
The position is full-time and permanent, with a six-month probationary period. The stated schedule is 8:40 to 17:10, including a 60-minute break, although flextime may apply depending on the department. The role is based in Tokyo and uses a hybrid office and remote-work arrangement. Annual leave, special leave, social insurance, stock ownership, childcare support, housing-related programs, and other benefits are provided. Salary is determined under company regulations.
