Data Engineer

This data engineer will support Musubi Insight, a business-intelligence tool that visualizes data related to pharmacy management and helps pharmacy owners and pharmacists make day-to-day decisions. The role covers the flow from data collection through visualization and user value delivery. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and operating data pipelines, with ETL implementation as a main focus; developing dashboards and analytics functions; and building web applications that handle large-scale data. The role also includes database design and performance tuning, establishing data-quality assurance and monitoring mechanisms, improving and automating operational work, and proposing and implementing technical product improvements.

The data-analysis platform uses Databricks. Listed data sources and services include AWS RDS, DynamoDB, Glue Data Catalog, S3, and Kinesis Streams. The web application environment uses Python, React, Next.js, and TypeScript, together with AWS Cognito, Amplify, API Gateway, Lambda, RDS, and S3. Infrastructure as Code uses Terraform, and CI/CD uses GitHub Actions. Monitoring and analytics tools are Datadog, Google Analytics, GTM, and KARTE. The listed LLM technologies are OpenAI, Gemini, and Claude through Amazon Bedrock. AI SaaS tools include GitHub Copilot and Cursor.

The product handles highly sensitive medical data, and the role is connected to knowledge of managing such data appropriately. The current team consists of one engineering manager, three engineers, one product lead, and one designer.

The selection process consists of document screening, a casual interview, two or three interviews, an aptitude test, a reference check, and an offer meeting. The process may change depending on circumstances. Reference checks use back check and collect questionnaire responses from people who worked with the candidate in their current or previous role. The check is completed online, without direct contact from KAKEHASHI to those referees.
