Product Quality Assurance (QA)

This role joins a Scrum-based agile development team responsible for continuously improving the learning experience of students. Working with engineers and designers, the Quality Assurance professional organizes product issues, tests hypotheses, supports improvements, and advances product development from a quality perspective.

Main responsibilities include designing and executing test cases, managing product quality after release, developing measures to improve testing efficiency, and promoting test automation. The role also covers general activities required to assure product quality throughout development and after launch.

The product context is atama+, an AI learning-material product provided to more than 4,500 cram schools and preparatory schools nationwide. Related services include atama+ learning schools and an online learning school, as well as programs for universities and an employee education program for companies that began in March 2026.

Each product development team generally includes two to three engineers, two to three designers, and about one QA member, for a total of approximately five to seven people. Product owners support multiple teams. Development teams work closely with business teams, while an SRE team and a development-platform team handle cross-functional technical matters.

Practical Quality Assurance experience is welcomed, but applicants without QA experience are also invited to apply if they can use skills such as logical thinking, project management, and communication developed through previous work. The development process is Scrum-based and agile, with team discussion and collaboration emphasized across engineering, design, and business functions. Business teams also provide feedback on product defects.

The product team discusses issues and requirements from the planning and specification stages rather than only implementing predetermined specifications. Product development members gain user insight through visits to schools using atama+ and interviews with students enrolled in the online school, then use those observations and feedback to improve the product.
