About this role

This role designs, builds, and operates cloud infrastructure and platforms for USEN PAY, a cashless payment service. The infrastructure engineer supports stable service delivery while continuously improving the technical foundation. Responsibilities include designing and operating AWS infrastructure, using Terraform for infrastructure as code, and building or improving CI/CD pipelines to automate development and release workflows.

The role also includes optimizing infrastructure for performance, cost, and availability; promoting stable operations; using APM, logs, and data to visualize systems, identify issues, and propose improvements; documenting operational and design knowledge; and building foundations that support technology in-house. The engineer will evaluate new technologies and architectures and introduce them incrementally. The assigned area will be determined based on experience and career interests.

Required experience includes at least three years of building and operating AWS environments, at least two years of Terraform use, and experience building CI/CD systems. Experience with GCP infrastructure, data analytics platform construction, Python development, or Kotlin development is welcomed.

The development environment names TypeScript, React, and Tailwind CSS on the frontend; Kotlin and Spring Boot on the backend; Vitest, Playwright, and kotest for testing; AWS and Terraform for infrastructure; Docker, GitHub, GitHub Actions, and GitHub Copilot for development and operations; and JIRA, Notion, and Figma for project management and collaboration.

The role supports USEN PAY’s expanding internal development organization in the cashless payments domain. The team includes one product manager, two frontend members, four backend members, and one infrastructure member, with two directly employed members and six partner members. Product and business stakeholders work closely with the development team, and technical decisions and architecture have significant scope for individual input. Possible career directions include backend, frontend, SRE, technical leadership, management, and eventually CTO-level responsibility.
